In 2002, Sophie met Jamie Amelio, a mother of four who had travelled to Cambodia for a holiday but could not come back unaffected after seeing the extreme poverty and lack of education without making a vow to herself to help the children.

In 2003, Sophie took her two boys to Cambodia for the inauguration of Jamie’s first school. To this day, this was one of the most inspiring moments for Sophie - "Seeing the happiness and exaltation of dozens of children running into their new and first classroom ever, filled me with so much joy, thanks to Jamie’s generosity and vision. It is a beautiful endeavor taken on by an admirable woman."

Jamie has devoted herself and has put all her efforts ever since to building schools, teacher training centers and homes in villages across Cambodia.

"Caring for Cambodia (CFC) is a non-profit, non-governmental, charitable organization that provides free education for 6,400 impoverished children in 14 schools spanning pre-school to high school. CFC professionally trains its teachers, and provides everything a child needs to succeed, including food, water, uniforms, school supplies, computers, transportation and basic healthcare. CFC is run entirely on volunteer support, which ensures that every dollar raised directly supports the education of a child."

Perlota is happy to be part of the fundraising efforts by creating a specially handcrafted necklace and bracelet in 18k white gold and diamonds.

Priced at USD 1480 for the necklace and SGD 1280 for the bracelet, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to CFC.
