Founded in Monaco in 2008, Eco Art International is an organization dedicated to using sustainable art practices to support the environment and protect birds from around the world.
Under the high patronage of HSH PRINCE ALBERT II OF MONACO, their objective is to connect the principle of art with the environmental protection through performing artists, achievement of sculptures and jewelry.
Perlota participated in a one of a kind exhibition with a collaboration of 35 designers and their unique jewelry art pieces. At the end of the exhibition, the auction of jewels will gather funds, of which 100% of the benefits will be divided between the Foundation of Prince Albert II of Monaco, Bird Life Foundation and a foundation in Abu Dhabi.
Sophie Pendleton created the “Bird of Freedom”, a falcon in flight representing all birds which themselves symbolize freedom, peace and nature, universal values that one can ever cease to desire, to demand or to protect.
The “Bird of Freedom” represented by a falcon in a gold open work design unveiling the following mantra: "Dare to take the flight of freedom, into the winds above with the gentle force of your wings. Spread over the oceans of love, to create eternal peace on earth, with your heart wide open, sing with the voice of joy to let the colors of the rainbow dance upon the soul of humanity."
The strength of the falcon is represented by the solidity of the gold – symbolizing the determination and fervor to attain freedom, peace and the preservation of mother Earth. In contrast, the delicate cut out of letters represents the fragility of these values that form the core of our quest.
