August | Peridot

August's primary birthstone is Peridot. Its summery hue is an enchanting lime green. This gemstone only comes in one color and is unique in its specificity.

.Peridot can be found in the hardened lava within Earth’s mantle as well as in meteorites that travelled from outer space and have fallen to Earth.

Closely connected to the Hawaiian culture, Peridots are thought to be the tears of the volcano goddess Pele.

Arizona is the world's leader in the production of gem-quality Peridot. The principal source of Peridot Olivine today is the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation.
